The 50 Best Pop Songs Of 2017
From "Slow Hands" to "Bad Liar," we round up the best pop songs of 2017.

It looks like Cardi B is about to have her 4th top 10 hit (5th if “Bartier Cardi” gains a little momentum). The breakout rapper jumps on the remix of Bruno Mars’ “Finesse,” lending a catchy intro to the ’90s-flavored bop. “It’s my big Bronx boogie, got all them girls shook,” she brags in the opening verse. “My big, fat ass got all them boys hooked.” From there, the 25-year-old recounts her Cinderella story. “I went from dollar bills, now we poppin’ rubber bands.”

As fun as the remix is, I still prefer the original version. Co-written and co-produced by The Stereotypes, “Finesse” was always screaming out to be a single and it didn’t need a feature to be massive. That being said, Cardi does a good job of calibrating her brash New York vibe to Bruno’s chilled out, throwback sound. The (somewhat) odd couple also dropped the video tonight (January 3) and it plays like a lost episode of In Living Color. Bruno serves retro-choreography, while his collaborator bops along in full ’90s get-up. Watch up top.
