Kylie Minogue's 14th Album Is 'Golden'
Kylie Minogue's new album is called 'Golden' and has a Spring release date.

Kylie Minogue kicks off the Golden era on Friday (January 19) with a new single called “Dancing.” As usual, the song leaked well in advance (some things never change) and it’s a cute country-pop hybrid with an instantly hummable chorus. In a behind-the-scenes video, the flawless 49-year-old acknowledges that this is a change of pace for her. “I promised my fans that I would be putting my heart and soul into this record and I stayed true to my word,” she begins. “I was able to do that, which was challenging and fun and rewarding.”

“It’s ended up with a different direction for sure, but essentially I’d still say it’s very much a Kylie record.” The Kylie element she’s referring to is the campy subject matter (“when I go out, I wanna go out dancing!”) and general exuberance. The Aussie pop legend previously referred to her new era as “Dolly Parton standing on a dancefloor” and that sounds about right. I’m not sure how it will go down with her banger-loving fan base, but who really cares at this point? She recently notched her 50th top 40 hit in the UK, so anything else is gravy.
