Lostboycrow’s Dreamy “I’m A Sailor Not A Salesman”: Premiere

Hailing from Los Angeles and shrouded in mystery, Lostboycrow is one of the most intriguing up-and-coming acts in pop music. Combining velvety R&B productions with moody pop lyricism and electro-kissed beats, the hitmaker has established himself as One To Watch. Each of his songs has topped the last and adds to an ever-growing narrative. Today (January 18) he has unveiled his new single, “I’m A Sailor Not A Salesman.” Unsurprisingly it is another endearing earworm.

Inspired by “the idea that who we are and are becoming is a direction leading us to far greater places than any other pursuit,” the soulful release is the latest offering from his three-part LP, Traveler. Following 2017’s buoyant “Scorpio,” the crooner’s latest feels a little more introspective. Over a delicate production he reflects back on the path that led him to where he is now.

Opening with a swell of sweet synths, he reflects on the life of a traveling musician. Balancing pressures such as sleeping in a car with the magic of endless starry nights, it is clear he is content with his adventure and appreciates the journey as much as the destination. “I’m a sailor keep on sailing. Out of my mind, out on the tide. I’ve got nowhere to be. I’m a sailor, not a salesman. Out on the line, nothing to hide. Cause I’m no good at pretending,” he earnestly proclaims on the chorus.

Poetically written and brilliantly produced, “I’m A Sailor Not A Salesman” is a dreamy listen from start to finish and is a pristine bop. We are excited to partner with Lostboycrow to premiere the lush release. Give it a listen below!
