From Selena Gomez To Beyonce: The Most Anticipated Albums Of 2018

The Best Pop Albums Of 2017
We round up the 20 best albums and EPs of 2017 including gems from Kesha & Lana Del Rey.

The new year has finally come and we’re hoping it brings new albums from all of our favorite artists. 2018 is already off to a promising start. CupcakKe was the first female rapper to unleash an LP in 2018 with Ephorize, while Camila Cabello made a bold debut with her self-titled solo album. Pop veterans like Justin Timberlake and Kylie Minogue have announced highly anticipated albums as well as (relative) newcomers like Hayley Kiyoko and Troye Sivan.

But that is just scratching the surface. We have compiled a list of some of the most-anticipated albums of 2018. Scroll through it below and let us know if we missed anyone in the comments.

Adam Lambert

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

What We’ve Heard: “Two Fux”

Despite releasing a carefree buzz track in 2017, we have spent far too many lonely nights pining for new music from the glam rocker. Hopefully Adam will leave us chasing a new high in 2018.

Anitta

What We’ve Heard: “Downtown,” “Is That For Me,” “Mai Malandra”

Brazil’s reigning princess is aiming for global success with the release of her new album, and the searing hitmaker is sure to be cooking up some hits to make that possible.

Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

After cementing her status as one of pop’s most promising princesses with 2016’s Dangerous Woman, Ari vowed more new music is on the way in 2018. Whether she rides a beat as sick as “Side to Side” or as pristine as “Into You,” it is clear that she has one of the year’s most anticipated albums on her hands.

Avril Lavigne

Title: TBA

Punk princess Avril has been teasing a musical return for years now, and hopefully 2018 will see her replicate the success of “Complicated” with another race up the Billboard Hot 100.

Bebe Rexha

Title: Expectations is the rumored title.

After unleashing two of the best EPs and claiming dominance on the country charts in 2017, Bebe is hitting the studio to work on a project reportedly called Expectations. Unsurprisingly, our expectations are sky high.

Beyonce

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

Despite being off-cycle, Beyonce dominated the charts last year and will hopefully return in full force with another collection of pure bops and visuals as stirring as Lemonade’s. Who run the world, Bey?

Britney Spears

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

With her Las Vegas residency complete and rumors of a world tour boiling over, it would only make sense for Britney to cook up some fierce new hits. Add in the fact that she is celebrating the 20th anniversary of “Baby One More Time,” and 2018 seems like her year.

Cardi B

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

What We’ve Heard: “Bodak Yellow,” “Bartier Cardi”

Carly Rae Jepsen

Carly Rae Jepsen

Title: TBA

Carly Rae Jepsen surely has the golden touch, and her sugary releases have aged exceptionally well. Hopefully 2018 will see her unleash another collection that we really, really really, really love.

Charlie Puth

Title: Voicenotes

Release Date: May 11

What We’ve Heard: “Attention,” “How Long,” “If You Leave Me Now”

Charlie’s self-produced Voicenotes has been delayed as he continues to tweak it to perfection. Hopefully he will make his new release date, but regardless rest assured he will have our full attention when it finally drops.

Christina Aguilera

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

The former pop princess has been working on her followup to Lotus since 2012, but this will hopefully be the year she graces us with her presence. The promise of caviar ratchet bops came years ago, but the “Your Body” diva is sure to have some serious hits up her sleeve by now.

Frank Ocean

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

Moody R&B cuts and tightly produced hip hop defined Blond in 2016, and Frank has only improved his craft as evidenced by a series of searing one-offs and features throughout 2017. Hopefully the crooner will be ready to return with a new collection this year.

Hayley Kiyoko

Title: Por Primera Vez

Release Date: TBA

What We’ve Heard: “Ni Tu Ni Yo,” “Amor, Amor, Amor”

Jennifer Lopez is preparing to unleash her second Spanish-language album, but if we are lucky she may also sneak an English-language project in. No matter what, it is safe to assume she will leave us on the floor.

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake

Title: Man Of The Woods

Release Date: February 2

What We’ve Heard: “Filthy,” “Supplies”

JT brought sexy back on his brilliantly produced Man of the Woods lead single, “Filthy.” Although the bop did not exactly gel with the LP’s outdoorsy branding, here is hoping the rest of it is filled with surefire hits.

Kanye West

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

2018 could promise big things for Kanye. The rapper announced the birth of his third child, and if we are lucky he will unleash his The Life Of Pablo followup as well.

Katy Perry

Liam Payne

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

What We’ve Heard: “Strip That Down,” “Bedroom Floor”

The first of three former members of One Direction with plans to unveil solo albums in 2018, we can only pray that Liam’s LP is more “Bedroom Floor” than it is “Strip That Down.”

Louis Tomlinson

Louis Tomlinson

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

What We’ve Heard: “Back To You,” “Miss You,” “Just Like You”

After a string of good but forgettable singles, Louis rediscovered his sound by going back to his pop/rock roots on “Miss You.” The song has not made a huge mark on the charts just yet, but I’m here for an album’s worth of anthemic bops.

Madonna

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

Will the Queen of Pop reclaim her throne with a new album’s worth of material this year? Fingers crossed that her new collection goes as hard as “Bitch I’m Madonna” and is as perfectly produced as “Living For Love.”

Major Lazer

Title: Music Is The Weapon

Release Date: TBA

What We’ve Heard: “Cold Water,” “Believer,” “Run Up,” “Know No Better”

EDM will never be the same once Major Lazer releases their fourth LP Music Is The Weapon. With singles like “Cold Water” and “Know No Better” filling the tracklist, it seems like Diplo and his collaborators will storm the charts once again.

Maluma

Title: F.A.M.E.

Meghan Trainor

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

Meghan promised that she has some “new bangers” on the way, and her third LP boasts both a star-studded and family-oriented group of collaborators. You are probably looking forward to hearing what she has up her sleeves, to which I’d emphatically reply: Me too.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

Returning to her roots for a nostalgic album of countrified anthems and earnest love songs was a risk for Miley, and the end result was not as immediately beloved as 2013’s Bangerz. The album proves to be a bit of a grower; however, rumor has it the hitmaker has returned to the studio to cook up a followup.

Nick Jonas

Nick Jonas

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

What We’ve Heard: “Find You”

Electro-tinged and moody, “Find You” was hailed as the lead single to Nick’s anticipated third solo LP, but it failed to make its desired impact. The track will likely be relegated to buzz track status, but with any luck he will find a hit to kick off the project.

Title: NC-17

Release Date: TBA

What We’ve Heard: “Make Me (Cry),” “Stay Together,” “I’m Stuck,” “Again”

After building her credibility with a series of enviable features, Noah is ready to make her full length debut and save pop with her wildly infectious bops.

Rihanna

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

Despite being released the year prior, Rihanna’s ANTi remained one of the best-selling albums of 2017. The chart queen is dearly missed though and is expected to make a return sooner than later.

Rita Ora

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

What We’ve Heard: “Your Song,” “Anywhere”

“Anywhere” and “Your Song” were two of the most surprising songs of 2017, and Rita Ora is hard at work to bring an equally memorable LP to the masses.

Robyn

Will 2018 be the year Robyn returns to save pop music? Signs are pointing to the Swede pop mastermind’s highly anticipated return, and with any luck she will inject some liveliness into the new year.

Selena Gomez

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

What We’ve Heard: “Bad Liar,” “Fetish”

Although she did not release an album, Selena proved to be one of the most in-demand voices in pop last year. Armed with undeniable hits like “Bad Liar” and “It Ain’t Me,” the siren has officially become one of the most thrilling acts to keep an eye on as she prepares the top Revival in 2018.

Sky Ferreira

Sky Ferreira

Title: TBA

It has been far too long since alt-pop princess Sky unleashed Night Time, My Time. With any luck she will answer our prayers with a new project.

Troye Sivan

Troye Sivan

Title: TBA

Release Date: Spring

What We’ve Heard: “My My My!,” “The Good Side”

After dropping one of the year’s first nearly perfect songs, “My My My!,” Troye revealed that he was coming with his sophomore LP this spring. And based on what we have heard so far, the hitmaker should be able to easily top 2015’s impressive Blue Neighbourhood.

Vance Joy

Title: Nation of Two

Release Date: February 23

What We’ve Heard: “Lay It On Me,” “Like Gold,” “We’re Going Home”

The Aussie crooner followed up his “Riptide” success with the equally enthralling “Lay It On Me” last year. Serving as the lead single to his forthcoming LP, Nation of Two, it is clear he will be reclaiming his spot atop the charts when it drops in February.

Zayn Malik

Zayn Malik

Title: TBA

Release Date: TBA

What We’ve Heard: “Dusk Till Dawn”

Barring any surprise releases from Harry or Niall, Zayn likely closes out the battle of the former 1D artists in 2018. The brooding hitmaker was the first to leave the group and is the only one to have snagged the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Will he match that feat with a single this year?
