Shaggy And Pitbull's 'Only Love'
Shaggy's welcome return to the music scene continues with his latest video.

Further proof that we’re living in the Upside Down comes in the form of 2018’s most surprising collaboration. Sting is teaming up with Shaggy for a joint album called 44/876 (due April 20). The lead single, “Don’t Make Me Wait,” arrives today (January 24) and it’s a soft-rock ballad for lovers with dancehall twist. “You only get a love like this once in a lifetime and if this is my chance I ain’t missing it,” the “It Wasn’t Me” legend croaks, before Sting comes in for the chorus: “Don’t make me wait, don’t make me wait — to love, to love, to love you.”

All in all, it’s actually quite pleasant in a WTF easy-listening kind of way. “The most important thing to me in any kind of music is surprise,” The Police frontman tells Rolling Stone. “And everybody is surprised by this collaboration — by what they’re hearing. We’re surprising.” And while the lead single is very much a bedroom anthem, the unlikely duo will tackle deeper issues on the album. “This is exactly the record the world needs now,” Shaggy promises. Listen to “Don’t Make Me Wait” below and judge for yourself.
