Kylie Minogue Boot Scoots Through Her Glittery “Dancing” Video
Kylie Minogue takes a twirl at a country & western bar in her glittery, tongue-in-cheek “Dancing” video. The video, which was directed by longtime-collaborator Sophie Muller, begins with the Aussie pop diva strumming a guitar in her Nashville hotel room. From there, we’re transported to a shadowy club (London’s Bush Hall) where the flawless 49-year-old indulges in line-dancing, zips through multiple costume changes inspired, in part, by Dolly Parton and then hits the floor with the Grim Reaper.
“I always thought I could learn routines quickly but this was different,” Kylie says of the fancy footwork on display. “However, by the time I had to dance with the Grim Reaper at the end I had mastered it. And if that’s not a funny allegory for life I don’t know what is!” The clip also encapsulates the essence of the song, which is about living in the moment. “Life’s all just moments which all join up – some of them are great, and some of them are less than sparkling – but ultimately I wanted this video to reflect the celebratory nature of the song,” she explains.
