Now she’s known as the Queen of Pop, but back in the 1980s Madonna spent her days working the registers at the Dunkin’ Donuts in Times Square. It’s a good thing she made it big in music, because she wasn’t exactly manager material at the chain pastry shop. In an interview, she once explained that she “was sacked for squirting the donut jelly all over the customers.” She’s also reported that she arrived in New York City with only $35 to her name, so maybe intentionally getting fired wasn’t the best move. Either way, Madonna clearly got the last laugh.
