Julia Michaels rolled out her second Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack contribution, “Are You,” and it sounds like a hit. Released today (February 9), it follows her lusty “Heaven” and is another sexy anthem. While her first served as an alluring love note to bad boys, the “Uh Huh” siren’s latest is more of an infatuated ode to falling deeply in love. Over a production courtesy of Mattman & Robin, she cozies up to a new flame for an intimate moment.

“Hold onto my heartbeat like you mean it. ‘Cause there’s something too real to let it slide,” she earnestly urges on the opening lines. Over sparse beats and breathy whispers, the hitmaker teases her lover and makes her feelings evident. “Ooh, it’s gettin’ so hot in here. Ooh, I keep makin’ it crystal clear. Ooh, are you thinkin’ the same thing I’m thinkin’,” she flirtatiously asks. Her bewitching seduction eventually builds up to an endearing call-and-response section on the bridge.

Infectious and adorable, “Are You” is further proof the songwriter-turned-superstar can do no wrong. All things considered, her contributions to the franchise are standouts and could shape up to be massively successful on the charts. Julia is in good company as well. Other songs on the release include numbers from Dua Lipa, Jessie J, Sia and Jamie Dornan who stars in the franchise as Christian Grey. A highlight will likely be Ellie Goulding’s reimagined rendition of “Love Me Like You Do,” which was included in Fifty Shades of Grey. Give Julia’s latest a listen below!
