Kim Petras Sweetens Valentine’s Day With Sugary Bop “Heart To Break”
Another week, another flawless bop from Kim Petras. Since debuting last year with the impossibly catchy “I Don’t Want It At All,” the German diva has rolled out a string of gems including the druggy “Hills” and even druggier “Faded.” (She also found the time to brighten up Charli XCX’s Pop 2 mixtape with a feature on “Unlock It”). She returns today (February 14) with “Heart To Break.” Produced by Cirkut and Dr. Luke, this is the 25-year-old’s biggest pop moment to date.
“One look at you I’m powerless, I feel my body saying yes,” Kim chirps over throbbing synths. “Where’s my self control?” That takes us the power-pop chorus. “Even if it means that I’ll never put myself back together, gonna give you my heart to break.” It’s very Euro, very ’80s and very good. At this point, the glamorous chanteuse already has enough material for a killer EP. Hopefully, she’s in the process of putting together a bigger body of work. Listen to her latest bop below.
