Eminem wishes fans an unhappy Valentine’s Day with the arrival of his gritty “River” video. The moody collaboration with Ed Sheeran is shaping up to be the breakout hit of the Revival era (admittedly, the Beyonce-assisted “Walk On Water” also went top 10 in most markets). It topped the charts in the UK, reached number two in Australia and peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. The Emile Haynie-produced anthem could climb even further when those YouTube views start factoring into its chart algorithm.

Director Emil Nava takes a documentary approach to the “River” video. It begins with Eminem and Ed being interviewed about their views on love. “My personal life is not exactly a highlight reel,” the rapper admits. “If you don’t have the trust element, you’re fucked,” the “Perfect” crooner adds. Alright then. From there, there’s a lot of shouting, pensive glares and emoting in empty rooms. It’s dark, moody and suits the track’s gloomy, pessimistic vibe perfectly. Watch up top.

Still Aftermath!
