Marshmello Gets Friend-Zoned By Anne-Marie In Their Neon-Drenched “Friends” Video

Anne-Marie lays down the law in the newly released video for her Marshmello collaboration, “Friends.” The twosome teamed up on their anti-lover’s anthem earlier this month. “You can’t be reasoned with, I’m done being polite,” the Brit sings to a friend who cannot take a hint over a searing beat courtesy of the up-and-coming producer. Rolled out today (February 16), the Hannah Lux Davis-directed visual brings the song’s defiant lyrics to life.

In it, Anne-Marie and her girl friends host a massive house party. The night is off to a wild start under some neon lights when Marshmello shows up and gets a little flirty. As the celebration comes to a close, she and her girls try to send him home to little effect. Throughout the rest of the visual they avoid some of his slick attempts to woo his lady-love. Vibrant and fun, the video is a cute release that will only give the track a push up the charts.

“Friends” could well be Marshmello’s third big hit in a row. “Silence,” his moody collaboration with Khalid, went top 10 everywhere except the US — a feat the Selena Gomez-voiced “Wolves” duplicated. His latest is starting to take off on the iTunes charts and has already racked up more than 12 million streams on Spotify in the last two weeks. With any luck, he and his collaborator will ride this one right to the top of the charts. Give the video a view up top!
