Brian May, lead guitarist of Queen, got acquainted with the Queen herself after he was given a Commander of the Most Excellent Order back in 2005 for his musical contributions. Not only has May achieved massive success as a musician, but he is also an accomplished scientist, even holding a Ph.D. in astrophysics. There is also an ongoing campaign to one day grant him the knighthood. Others are also pushing for a posthumous knighthood for his bandmate, the late and great Freddie Mercury. As of now, May will have to take the honor of being called “Sir.”
