Marian Hill's Hypnotic 'Down' Video
The electro duo spend some time in an elevator in their hypnotic 'Down' video.

Philadelphia duo Marian Hill returned to the pop scene last week with a new single. A fever dream of a song that unfurls against mercurial bleeps and beeps, “Subtle Thing” is decidedly unusual — which appears to be the theme of their new era. (And the title of their upcoming tour). The adjective certainly applies to the video clip. Jeremy Lloyd and Samantha Gongol enter a room in which roses blink, computer screens melt and body parts randomly appear and disappear. It is, without a doubt, one of the most attention-grabbing visuals of 2018.

“Subtle Thing” is Marian Hill’s first new single since releasing Act One, their debut album, in 2016. That opus delivered the mesmerizing down “Down,” which went viral and ultimately became their breakthrough hit — peaking at number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 and selling platinum. Watch the acid-trip shenanigans of the duo’s new video up top and check out their upcoming tour dates below. You can also catch them at Coachella.
