5SOS Announce 'Want You Back'
5 Seconds Of Summer shared the cover of new single 'Want You Back.'

They’re back! 5 Seconds Of Summer return today (February 22) with “Want You Back,” their first new song in two years. And the band’s sound has definitely evolved since then. The Aussie hitmakers leave behind the pop/punk of their first two albums and dive head-first into slick, radio-friendly pop with a rhythmic edge. “No matter where I go, I’m always gonna want you back,” Luke Hemmings sings on the catchy chorus. “No matter how long you’re gone I’m always gonna want you back.” It’s their best single to date.

“[The song] articulates the band we were, and where we are now, and what we’re gonna be,” the band said in an interview with Beats 1. “That’s why I like it and that’s why we picked it. We also made it with close friends like we’ve got Andrew Goldstein who we literally see every week. We party together, we confess our sorrows and happiness. We speak to this man everyday.” Other co-writers include J Kash and Asia Whiteacre. “Want You Back” was produced by Goldstein and Andrew Wells.

In other exciting news, the “She’s So Perfect” chart-toppers also announced the 5SOS3 Tour. The 26-date trek kicks off on March 20 at Debaser Strand in Stockholm and takes in some of music’s most iconic venues (including NYC’s Irving Plaza and the Belasco Theater in LA), before winding up in Sao Paulo, Brazil on June 6.
