After years of delays, the time has finally come. Tinashe is ready to roll out her sophomore LP, Joyride, and it is coming very soon. Today (March 16), the 25-year-old hopped on social media to share an official release date of April 13 and a promise: “The wait is over.” Along with the date, the “Faded Love” hitmaker unveiled the LP’s cover photo, and it is a real look.

Appearing in silhouette, she serves a dramatic pose. Her styling is a series of contrasts as she balances a soft, sheer gown with metallic accessories including a wire halo and sharply pointed shoulder pads. In all, it is easily one of the most striking cover photos I have seen in recent memory, and it promises big things on the horizon.

Fans have already heard at least two tracks that are likely to make the LP’s final tracklist. Earlier this year, Tinashe teamed up with Migos rapper Offset on the hip-hop heavy “No Drama.” It was a welcome return, but she delivered a more than worthy follow-up when she rolled out her frosty R&B dreamscape, “Faded Love.” Fingers are crossed that the remainder of the album is equally fierce. Check out the official cover below while we wait to see what else made the LP!
