The past, present and future collide in Lana Del Rey's cosmic 'Love' video.

Lana Del Rey keeps on winning. The “White Mustang” singer will be honored with the Global Impact Award at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards on April 23. She’s a deserving winner given the global success of Lust For Life, which topped the charts in Australia, Canada and the UK — and went top 10 in all major European markets including France, Germany and Italy. Other recipients include Portugal. The Man (the alt-rockers are getting the Vanguard Award) and legendary songwriter Desmond Child.

With credits on smash hits like Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On A Prayer” and Ricky Martin’s “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” Child is a worthy winner of the Founders Award. “[He] is one of the most respected and successful songwriters in the world,” ASCAP President Paul Williams says. “His unique ability to capture the essence of our lives through song… is simply unequaled. We are honored to present Desmond with the ASCAP Founders Award in recognition of his towering achievements. With #1 hits spanning five decades now, Desmond surely has many more milestones still to come.”
