Cardi B Soars To #1
Cardi B makes history this week as 'Bodak Yellow' tops the Billboard Hot 100.

Another one! Cardi B continues her winning streak with the release of her new single, “Be Careful.” The 25-year-old gave fans a heads up about the drop, urging them to stay awake until midnight for a treat. Although some expected the “Bartier Cardi” video, she later revealed that she was dropping another track off her forthcoming Invasion Of Privacy LP. Released today (March 30), her latest contains a barbed message to a lover over a playful midtempo production.

“I wanna get married, like the Curry’s, Steph and Ayesha shit. But we more like Belly; Tommy and Keisha shit. Gave you TLC, you wanna creep and shit,” Cardi proclaims as she calls out a straying lover on the first verse. Her delivery is passionate, and she effortlessly rides the laidback beat.

Although she presents a tough facade, the anthem offers a glimpse at a more vulnerable side of the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker. This is especially evident on the chorus, where she both warns her lover and requests he treat her heart with some respect. “Be careful with me. Do you know what you doin’? Whose feelings that you’re hurtin’ and bruisin’? You gon’ gain the whole world. But is it worth the girl that you’re losin’?”

“Be Careful” sounds like another hit, and it seems like the femcee could easily storm the charts once again. As it stands, she has 5 singles scattered across the Billboard Hot 100 this week. Included in the mix is her ’90s-tinged “Finesse” remix with Bruno Mars. The duo’s anthem is sitting comfortably in the top 5, and “Bartier Cardi” is still top 40. Her Nicki Minaj and Migos collaboration “MotorSport” and G-Eazy’s “No Limit” are both just outside top 40, and her “La Modelo” with Ozuna reentered the lower rungs of the charts. At the rate things are going, the hitmaker may have another top 10 on her hands before her album drops April 6. It has been a whirlwind year for her, and it is clear more is on the way.
