Lana Del Rey and The Weeknd's epic 'Lust for Life' video is the stuff of dreams.

Talk about a quick turnaround. After announcing a project was on the way this afternoon, The Weeknd officially unveiled his My Dear Melancholy, EP tonight (March 29). The six-track collection moves the “I Feel It Coming” superstar closer to the brooding R&B that comprised his debut LP, Kiss Land. After exploring more pop aesthetics on his breakthrough album, Beauty Behind The Madness, and 2016’s Starboy, this is a return to familiar territory for the 28-year-old. Executive produced by Frank Dukes and Abel himself, it includes additional production credits from the likes of Mike WiLL Made-It, Skrillex and Cirkut.

My Dear Melancholy, sounds like it is bursting with potential hits. After an initial listen, “Wasted Time” and lead track “Call Out My Name” could easily dominate radio with their moody productions and innovative structures. Also keep an eye peeled for the “I Was Never There” and “Hurt You,” a pair of collaborations with Gesaffelstein. The French DJ is the only artist listed as an official feature on the tracklist, and his contributions offer additional servings of downtempo excellence. As it stands The Weeknd is already sitting within the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 with his Black Panther contribution “Pray For Me.” As the year goes by, it is easy to imagine him replicating the feat with any of the tracks here.

It is unclear if The Weeknd has plans to service any of the tracks as official singles, but it seems clear that they will make the setlist for his headlining appearance at Coachella this April. Listen to the hitmaker’s new project below.
