She’s back. Anticipation has been high for new music from Nicki Minaj, and today (April 12) she is following through on promises with a triple release. The 35-year-old offered up a taste of her new album by rolling out a pair of buzz tracks, “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li.” And later today she will team up with Young Thug on a just-announced track called “Anybody.” The first two songs promise big things for the “No Frauds” rapper as she gears up to unveil her fourth album this year.

Following up on promises to return to her roots with her new releases, “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li” strip back some of the pop production in favor of hip-hop beats and brag-heavy lyrics. On the former, she makes some bold claims about her career and includes some additional digs at Remy Ma. “It’s time to make hits and it’s time to diss. How you still dissin’, still can’t find some hits? Was it worth it, dummy? I ain’t mind a bit,” she declares over a slick beat. An accompanying lyric video welcomes viewers into a Barbie mansion and drips with allusions to royalty.

Boasting another searing production, “Chun-Li” offers a second opportunity for Nicki to show off her slick flow. With plans to release a video in support of “Barbie Tingz,” it seems like she has selected the track as her official single. With its barbed lyrics and bold beats it should find a spot on radio and rack up serious streams on Spotify and the like. With any luck, the hitmaker will move into her album campaign with a track burning up the charts. Check out the “Barbie Tingz” lyric video up top and give “Chun-Li” a listen below!
