She is coming. Last night (April 17), Ariana Grande confirmed the imminent release of her new single, “No Tears Left To Cry.” Rumors have been circulating about the track for weeks now, and it will officially arrive this Friday (April 20). With an alleged production from Pharrell Williams, it serves as the lead single to the “Side to Side” siren’s highly anticipated fourth LP. “Missed you” she teased in a post on Twitter as rumors reached a fever pitch yesterday afternoon. Shortly thereafter she hopped online to confirm the title (which is formatted upside down) and to upload a string of pictures announcing the release date.

Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, it appears Dave Meyers is set to direct the accompanying video. The creator took to his Instagram account to upload a black-and-white photo of himself in a field. The attached caption included the song’s title, leading to speculation he has been involved in the project. Considering his track record of high-profile releases including Camila Cabello’s “Havana” mini-movie, Katie Perry’s explosive “Firework,” Justin Timberlake’s moody “Supplies” and Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s striking “All The Stars,” he seems the perfect choice for the release.

The 24-year-old’s new album has been shrouded in mystery, but what we do know so far suggests she has something massive on her hands. According to TMZ, she co-wrote every track on the album. It seems she played the album for Republic Records execs and her manager, Scooter Braun, last month, and it is already being described as the pop star’s most personal to date. Which makes complete sense given everything she has gone through with the bombing that took place at her concert in Manchester and subsequent fund- and awareness-raising activities. Her last album, 2016’s Dangerous Woman, reached number two on the Billboard 200 and produced two top 10 hits.
