Coachella 2018, Day 1 Highlights
From Yodel Boy to Jean-Michel Jarre, we recap the highlights of Coachella, Day 1.

UPDATE: You can now listen to “Famous” below. Somewhat surprisingly, there’s no yodeling. Instead, Mason delivers a sweet country-pop love song.

In case you have been in a coma for the last couple of weeks, Mason Ramsey went viral when a video of him yodeling Hank Williams’ “Lovesick Blues” in Walmart hit the internet. Dubbed Walmart Boy or Yodel Boy, the 11-year-old soon became a cause celebre and, somewhat inevitably, he was invited to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. But it didn’t stop there. The tween made a show-stopping appearance at Coachella (he shared the stage with rising EDM producer Whethan) and has already been booked for country music festival, Stagecoach.

Given his viral success, it was only a matter of time before the tween dropped a single. As much as I wanted to download his version of “Lovesick Blues,” it looks like Mason is going with an original. “Told y’all I was working on something!” he captioned the cover art (below), which finds him wearing that trademark bowtie and cowboy hate. “My first song ‘Famous’ comes out at midnight.” It has also been revealed that the budding superstar has signed with Atlantic Records and Big Loud. Listen below.
