Anne-Marie rolled out her debut album Speak Your Mind today (April 27), and it is overflowing with potential hit. The siren has come a long way since releasing her breakout anthem “Alarm” in 2016, and she effortlessly showcases her ability to front massive pop productions on the collection. Working with a slew of superstar writers and producers, she exceeds expectations and is likely to extend her domination on the charts through the remainder of the year.

The tracklist includes several previously released songs including “Alarm,” break up anthem “Ciao Adios” and the nostalgia-inducing “2002.” The latter includes a writing credit from Ed Sheeran and is lush with references to hits from the early millennium. Her Marshmello collaboration “FRIENDS,” is an obvious highlight. The track is shaping up to become one of her biggest hits yet and is sitting right outside the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. With nearly 250 million streams on Spotify, it could easily soar even higher in the coming weeks. Impressively, the remainder of the LP manages to compete with her previously released bops.

Opening with the Jennifer Decilveo-produced mid-tempo “Cry,” Anne-Marie quickly establishes herself as one to watch. Over a breezy beat the 27-year-old comes out ahead in the aftermath of a relationship. “In the middle of the night I see you crying, yeah, yeah. Now you’re sleeping on your own you’re realizing, yeah, yeah. Don’t you know you should’ve held me down,” she coos on the addictive chorus. It is another empowering moment from the hitmaker who is really dominating the market on kiss-off anthems. Emily Warren, responsible for writing on some of The Chainsmokers’ biggest hits, is credited on “Trigger,” which boasts a buoyant production and some playful writing.

Although break ups seem to have inspired a good deal of the project, the pop darling delivers an empowering message on “Perfect.” Over a vibey beat she delivers lyrics that drip with self-love. “Love every single part of my body, top to bottom. I’m not a supermodel from a magazine, I’m okay with not being perfect,” she croons. The standard edition of the project closes with the Teddy Geiger and Ilsey Juber co-written “Machine,” which offers a little more introspection. “If I was a machine I’d never have to worry. I know that I could always press delete.”

Impressively, Anne-Marie’s winning streak continues into the deluxe edition’s bonus tracks. “Breathing Fire” is a striding, free-wheeling anthem that features some of her breathiest vocals. “Used To Love You” is another fierce kiss-off, and “Peak” manages to steal the spotlight as one of the project’s most soul-crushing ballads. “Wasn’t I enough? Didn’t I amount to you? I don’t blame you for the love that I lost to you,” she mourns over somber keys. 2018 is proving to be a banner year for the budding superstar, and Speak Your Mind offers her plenty of hits that are bound to extend her reign.
