Friday cannot come soon enough. Nicki Minaj announced that she would be dropping a video in support of her new single “Barbie Tingz” to kickstart the weekend. Fans have been clamoring for the video since the 35-year-old jumpstarted her new era with a double release last month. Today (May 1), she responded to a comment on Instagram to confirm it was on the way. Although we don’t know much about the project just yet, it is safe to assume that it will be a colorful affair. The single’s cover features the rap icon and a crew of dancers in some vibrant period costumes. And a teaser that dropped alongside the singles sees her channeling some equally impressive looks. Based on what we have seen thus far, it seems like we have a treat on the way.

It is safe to assume that a “Chun-Li” visual is close behind. Although it seemed like Nicki was putting precedence on “Barbie Tingz” when the tracks dropped, the former cracked the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in its first week. In comparison, “Barbie Tingz” bowed out at number 25. The femcee was quick to drop a hazy vertical video in support of the single, and it has amassed more than 16 million streams on YouTube in two short weeks. Fans are speculating an official treatment is following, and that it will give “Chun-Li” a boost back up the charts. After making its debut, it sank down to the number 48 spot in its second week. Hopefully, some videos and a performance or two (including a set on SNL) will help both tracks stabilize. Check out her announcement and a teaser for the forthcoming visual below!
