AURORA Welcomes Us Into Her “Queendom” In Stunning New Video
AURORA has always has a striking visual style, whether it was nature-based beauty of “Runaway” or the breathtaking surrealism of “I Went Too Far.” She switches it up, however, in the video for new single “Queendom.” The Norwegian singer delivers an intricately choreographed piece of performance art, captured by famed director Kinga Burza. “I came to this project hoping AURORA was ready to push herself to the next level, but I didn’t realize how ready, until I saw her on set,” she says in a press release.
“Nor did I realize how effortless it would be to guide her through her amazing performances. She is a natural talent with two firm feet on the ground — her solid roots ready to flourish with a joy and charisma that is as rare as it gets.” Those qualities really shine through in the video, which was filmed in Prague and features dazzling set-pieces and quirky costumes — all through the lens of what appears to be natural light. “Queendom” is the first taste of the 21-year-old’s sophomore album.
