The Wombats’ “Turn” (ayokay Remix) Featuring Dagny: Premiere
The Wombats struck gold with “Turn,” the lead single from their brilliantly-titled 4th LP, Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life. The jangly pop/rock anthem, which boasts memorable lyrics about being college-girl drunk and listening to Drake in swimming pools, has already racked up more than 16 million streams on Spotify and is currently top 40 on Alternative Radio. It should find an even bigger audience with a new dance remix from ayokay featuring Norwegian pop star Dagny.
It’s always dangerous to fiddle with something as instant and effortlessly euphoric as “Turn,” but the Detroit producer’s overhaul is far enough removed from the original that it feels like a completely new song. The addition of Dagny, who recently blessed us with “That Feeling When,” is inspired — giving a female perspective to the summery shenanigans. We’re excited to premiere the ayokay remix below.
