A Kanye x Weezer Mashup Album Exists
A college sophomore has made an entire album of Kanye West and Weezer mashups.

Iconic ’90s band Weezer hasn’t charted on the Billboard Hot 100 in close to a decade, but that’s about to change. Rivers Cuomo & Co. finally gave in to a fan campaign to cover “Africa” (there was even a Twitter account dedicated to making this happen) and now find themselves with the number one song on iTunes. Their version of Toto’s classic ’80s hit is appropriately faithful to the original, which is also surging on the digital retailer, because… why would anyone mess with an objectively perfect song?

The band also put their spin on Toto’s other big hit, “Rosanna.” If anything, I prefer it to their interpretation of “Africa” for the simple fact that covering a less-known song feels less sacrilegious. In addition to remaking the greatest hits of the 1980s, Weezer is still promoting their 11th studio album, Pacific Daydream. It dropped in late 2017 and produced the singles “Feels Like Summer” and “Happy Hour.” They are also prepping their next opus, which has been dubbed The Black Album in interviews. Listen to their hit covers below.
