Update: Alessia Cara’s “Growing Pains” has arrived, and it sounds like a massive hit. Stream it below!

Alessia Cara’s new era is nearly upon us. The 21-year-old stormed charts worldwide with the release of her debut album Know-It-All in 2015. After her breakout single, “Here,” peaked within the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 she has become a fixture on the chart for the last three years. She netted her second Top 10 hit with “Scars To Your Beautiful” and replicated the feat with a feature on Zedd’s “Stay” and alongside Logic and Khalid on “1-800-273-8255” last year. This January she was recognized as the Best New Artist at the 2018 Grammy Awards. And yesterday (June 11), she revealed that she was preparing to roll out her sophomore album. The first taste arrives this Friday (June 15) and is called “Growing Pains.”

Taking to social media, she uploaded the single cover. On it she wears an oversized gray suit and loosely knotted purple tie. Standing in front of a mountain, she looks up to the sky with a somber expression. “Growing pains, the first song from my sophomore album, will be out june 15th,” she announced. The hitmaker also teamed up with several of her biggest fans to roll out the lyrics. Sharing lines with the group, they worked together to put them in order. We don’t know much about the track yet, but based on the lyrics it seems like a nostalgia-inducing anthem.

“Make my way through the motions. I try to ignore it, but home’s looking farther the closer I get. Don’t know why I can’t see the end. Is it over yet,” she ponders in the first verse. The track is likely to become another hit on the charts, and it will hopefully open her era with another enduring release. Considering Alessia’s ability to pen relatable cuts, the prospects look very good. Check out the full lyrics here and get a look at the single cover below!
