Bebe Rexha soared to unprecedented heights in 2018. The 28-year-old landed her most successful single to date with her Florida Georgia Line collaboration, “Meant To Be.” After historically topping the Hot Country Songs chart last year it climbed to the number 2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and amassed more than one billion streams. The Americana-inspired ode is still sitting comfortably within the top 20 on the Hot 100, and it could very well remain a fixture on radio through the summer. Today (June 15) though, she is set to replicate the breakaway success with her new single “I’m A Mess.” The latest release from her debut album, Expectations, it is an emotional banger.

Boasting a writing credit from the ever-reliable Justin Tranter, Bebe’s latest is a relatable ode to being a hot mess. “Everything’s been so messed up here lately. Pretty sure he don’t wanna be my baby,” she sings on the opening lines. However, her outlook is anything but bleak. Things build up to the sing-along chorus, which will be stuck in your head after one listen. “Everything’s gonna be alright. Everything’s gonna be okay. It’s gonna be a good, good life; that’s what my therapist says,” the “I Got You” superstar chants. “I’m A Mess” joins the previously released buzz tracks “2 Souls On Fire” and “Ferrari” on Expectations, and it feels like another obvious hit.
