BLACKPINK Kickstarts Their ‘Square Up’ Era, Dazzles In “DDU-DU DDU-DU” Video

K-pop queens BLACKPINK kicked off a new era. The quartet has amassed an impressive following since launching in 2016. Although they have only released a handful of singles, YG Entertainment’s leading ladies have been streamed millions of times on Spotify. And all of their music videos have been viewed more than 100 million times on YouTube. Today (June 15), they rolled out their first mini-album, Square Up. The four-track project is a bold collection of searing, electro-kissed bangers. And the group celebrated by dropped a video in support of their current single, “DDU-DU DDU-DU.” In it, they deliver some sizzling choreography and fierce looks. Add in a seriously hot beat, and they have all the makings for a viral hit.

The album campaign is off to a strong start for the supergroup. “DDU-DU DDU-DU” is sitting comfortably within the Top 40 on US iTunes, and Square Up is currently at the number 3 spot on the albums chart. That places them behind only 5 Seconds Of Summer’s Youngblood and Christina Aguilera’s Liberation. Internationally the girls are having even more luck and have already reached the top spot on both singles and albums charts in major markets. Meanwhile, their jewel-toned video has amassed more than 9.3 million views in the first 6 hours of being online. They are bringing something seriously hot this era, and it is clear their hard work is paying off.
