Halsey's 'Now Or Never' Video
There is a lot going on in Halsey's directorial debut and first video of her sophomore era.

About time! “Strangers” was rolled out as a promotional single before the release of Halsey’s hopeless fountain kingdom and immediately stood out. For starters, it’s a defiantly queer love song and served as Lauren Jauregui’s introduction as a solo artist for most people. The Greg Kurstin-produced anthem seemed like an obvious single, but was overlooked in favor of “Bad At Love” and “Alone” (below) — until now. “Strangers” is finally getting the love it deserves, which includes a typically elaborate video that continues the Romeo + Juliet-inspired love story that began way back in “Now Or Never.”

This time around, Halsey and Lauren face off in a boxing match. Inspired by cult classic Girlfight, the video finds the women trading blows while their mysterious crews swig liquor and cheer them on. Things get increasingly bloody and there’s a Rocky-like comeback towards the end. With any luck “Strangers” will be another big hit for the “Closer” hitmaker. Pop radio could do with a non-gimmicky gay love song (Sorry, Rita Ora) and this could be the perfect launching pad for Lauren’s solo career. Watch up top.
