Club Queen! Kim Petras Drops “Heart To Break” Remix EP
Since arriving with the blissful “I Don’t Want It At All” in 2017, Kim Petras has become one of pop’s most consistent divas — delivering bop after bop. Her defining moment to date, however, is “Heart To Break.” Produced by Cirkut and Dr. Luke, it’s arguably the catchiest dance-pop anthem of the year. From the polished beats to the soaring chorus, everything about the song just works. Which makes the prospect of a remix package a little daunting. After all, why fuck with perfection?
Happily, the new remixes pull “Heart To Break” in new directions without obliterating the magic of the original. Swiss producer Freedo knows a thing or two about perky pop music (he co-produced Zara Larsson’s “Lush Life”) and his overhauls are bubblegum-pop with a club twist. JUDGE and Dan Trapp take a slightly less commercial approach, but their remixes are still exuberant and fun. Kim will be supporting Troye Sivan on the Bloom Tour this fall.
