UPDATE: Dua Lipa took to social media to tease “Electricity,” and it looks like the track is coming soon. Check out her tweet below.

2018 has seen a handful of pop’s biggest producers and writers explore new avenues to share their art with fans. Just last week mega-hitmaker Benny Blanco linked up with Halsey and Khalid to launch an artist project with the release of his debut single, “Eastside.” Earlier this year, Diplo teamed up with Sia and Labrinth to launch a new super-group called LSD. The Major Lazer producer also joined forces with Mark Ronson to form a duo called Silk City. After teasing the collaboration back in January, they dropped their debut single, “Only Can Get Better,” in May. “Silk City is an homage to some of the greatest dance music cities; Chicago, London, Paris, Detroit,” Diplo said about the partnership. Today (July 17), Mark revealed that their second single features Dua Lipa, is called “Electricity” and will drop in the near future.

The trio were spotted in the recording studio back in January, and Diplo teased the release as a summer blockbuster. But today’s confirmation from Mark promises big things on the horizon. Speaking to The Times, the in-demand song-smith shared a couple additional details about the collaboration. In particular, he revealed that it was written in collaboration with Florence Welch and Romy Madley Croft of the xx. Considering the star-studded line-up, it is easy to imagine that it will be an absolute smash. Unsurprisingly, it also features a serious vocal performance. “The song is a belter,” he said. Sonically, he described it as sounding “spiritual piano house music like they used to make” and added that “Lipa sounds imperious.”

It is unclear when exactly the track will drop, but it could easily offer the “New Rules” siren a second summer club anthem. She is currently burning up dance floors with her Calvin Harris-assisted “One Kiss.” Revisit it below while we wait for more news about “Electricity.”
