You exit the tour bus and are instantly under attack by a horde of screaming, love-struck girls. They’re all scrambling to touch and make eye contact with you; some are even tugging at your clothes. The crazed girls outnumber you and your band 100 to 1, with more seemingly materializing from thin air. Welcome to the life of a rock star.

So, with all of this attention, it should be easy for band members to stay away from each other’s significant others, right? Wrong. Regardless that rock stars usually have their pick of the litter, they still end up going for the forbidden fruit: a bandmate’s girl. See which musicians weren’t able to follow band etiquette and went for the one girl they weren’t allowed to have. You won’t believe the statement Axl Rose made in the song “Rocket Queen.”

A young Anita Pallenberg first came into contact with the Rolling Stones in 1965. A 21-year-old model, she made her way backstage where she struck up a conversation with the band’s rhythm guitarist, Brian Jones. It wasn’t long before the two became an item. However, when lead guitarist Keith Richards moved in with the couple, he wondered if Anita was with the right man.

When the three went on a trip to Morrocco, Jones fell ill, and Richards and Anita began a physical relationship. After that, Anita left Jones for Richards, and Jones left the band and began to medicate himself with drugs and alcohol. The next year, he was discovered dead in his pool at his East Sussex estate. Richards and Anita continued their relationship and remain close to this day.
