A Robyn Album Update
The good news? The Swede's followup to 2010's seminal 'Body Talk' is coming.

The wait for new Robyn is over! After an eight-year break, the Swede returns to the pop scene today (August 1) with a new single called “Missing U” and it’s magnificent. Produced by Metronomy frontman Joseph Mount and long-time collaborator Klas Åhlund, the almost five-minute floorfiller evokes the frosty melancholy of “With Every Heartbeat” with a twist of inexplicable euphoria. “[It’s] about this trippy thing that happens when people disappear, it’s like they become even more clear and you see them everywhere,” the hitmaker explains.

While the subject matter is open to interpretation, it’s hard not to see the track as a tribute to her friend and producer, Christian Falk, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2014. “Missing U” also doubles as a love letter to Robyn’s very patient fans. That is emphasized by the arrival of a short film that finds the 38-year-old reconnecting with devotees at a club night in Brooklyn. Listen to the pop star’s brilliant comeback single below and watch the short film. Welcome back!
