Robyn's 'Missing U' Is Here
The Swedish pop star makes a welcome return with new single, 'Missing U.'

Make no mistake, the return of Robyn is a very big deal. The Swedish pop star’s first single (random features don’t count) in eight, long years was greeted with an outpouring of love and supported by an impressive marketing campaign that included a mini-documentary and billboards in Times Square. She continues to build hype for “Missing U” by performing the melancholy banger for BBC Radio 1 — at Café Mambo in Ibiza, no less. Not only that, but the 39-year-old dusted off a bunch of her greatest hits.

The near-perfect setlist began with “Dancing On My Own,” which later became a worldwide hit for Calum Scott. As cute as his cover is, nothing compares to the original and Robyn glided her way through it with suitable intensity. Then came “Missing U.” The fact the song didn’t sound out of place next to a pop classic confirms its pedigree. However, the last two tracks got the biggest response. “Call Your Girlfriend” had the drugged-up crowd heaving, while “With Every Heartbeat” remains the saddest banger of the ’00s. Watch up top.
