Ciara Teams Up With Tekno For New Single, “Freak Me”
Ciara won’t take her foot off our necks. The “Goodies” queen recently returned with a fiery new single called “Level Up” and went viral with the choreography-heavy video. That song is still climbing the Billboard Hot 100 (it’s currently sitting at number 59), but she is already rolling out new music. The 32-year-old is dropping the followup on Friday (August 10). Featuring Nigerian artist Tekno, the track promises to have an African flavor. “Been dying to share this with you! Can’t wait! #AfroBeats #AfroWave,” CiCi tweeted.
It will be interesting to see if “Level Up” was just a taster or if she’s going for the currently popular scattershot approach of just releasing a bunch of songs until something sticks. Not that I’m complaining. It’s always cause for celebration when Ciara joins the New Music Friday lineup and I’m fascinated at the prospect of her exploring a new sound.
