Camila Cabello Links Up With Swae Lee On A Remix Of “Real Friends”

It looks like Camila Cabello has officially selected the third single off her chart-topping debut album. Today (August 16), the 21-year-old linked up with Swae Lee for a reimagined version of “Real Friends.” The track emerged as a dual release alongside “Never Be The Same” last year. But it fell to the back-burner as the latter raced up the charts. Now that the ethereal anthem has run its course, the “Havana” siren is clearly hoping for another hit alongside the Rae Sremmurd rapper. Hopping onto the sparse production, he adds some extra dimension with a guest verse. His vocals come off a little on the robotic side at times thanks to some excessive studio magic. However, his falsetto is a nice compliment to Camila’s breathy delivery.

Although the remix and single selection is a little surprising, it is definitely poised for big things. The hitmaker certainly knows about the benefits of a star-studded remix. Earlier this year she joined forces with country star Kane Brown for a reworked version of “Never Be The Same.” The surprise collaboration helped propel the track to a Top 10 peak on the Billboard Hot 100. Camila also linked up with Bazzi for a remix of the rising star’s “Beautiful.” In just under two weeks, the duet has racked up more than 17 million streams on Spotify and debuted at the number 60 spot on the chart. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it soar higher in the coming weeks.

At the rate things are going, it looks like it will be joined by “Real Friends.” Either release could easily become the diva’s next Top 10 smash. Fingers crossed that after she conquers the charts she turns her attention to standout tracks “She Loves Control” and “Into It.” They deserve love, too. In the meantime, give the updated song a spin below!
