The final leg of Katy Perry’s Witness World Tour has yielded some interesting headlines. Before she even touched down for the string of shows across Australia and New Zealand, she opened up about the underperforming of Witness in a confessional interview with Vogue Australia. Then, earlier this month she met up with Celine Dion. The duo posed for an iconic backstage shoot together, and the “My Heart Will Go On” legend taught Katy how to do her signature chest slap (the secret is doing it with one hand!). That’s not all though. Yesterday we learned that the 33-year-old is trying to cook up a fresh hit with her opening act, Zedd. During an interview with Australian radio host Kent Small, the producer was asked about the possibility and provided an interesting answer.

“I’d love to do some music with Zedd who’s coming out to join me on half of the Australian tour,” Katy said in a previous interview. When hit with evidence of the “Hey Hey Hey” siren’s excitement, the “Happy Now” hitmaker admitted that something was in the works. However, he wasn’t sure if it would see the light of day. “I’m always relatively open about the fact that I make a lot of music with people,” he said. “It doesn’t always come out. But we’ve been working. And still wanting to release a song with her. I’ve always wanted to. So if we all get lucky maybe we’ll finish a song, and it will come out.” That isn’t the perfect guarantee that the pair will be conquering the charts together. But, we should still hold out hope for the future. After all, he ended his answer on a positive note. “And if not maybe another time.”
