Mariah Carey Confirms 15th LP
The pop icon has set up her own record label and is recording her 15th album.

Mariah Carey opens up about her long-awaited 15th LP in a new interview with People magazine. “I’ve been working on my new album for a while. This is a labor of love and I’m really excited,” she reveals. “This is me at this moment in my life being able to express myself as a writer and a singer. I’m just really in a good place.” The Lamb Whisperer also describes her new sound as “current” without following “anyone else’s trends.” I’m ready. It seems that Mimi was in a particularly chatty mood, because there’s more.

“My fans just want to hear me express myself and speak from the heart and sing from the heart,” Mariah maintains (correctly). “Some of the record is lighthearted and fun, and some [songs] I really went deep in terms of the lyrical content. There’s a nice cross-section of things.” Unfortunately, the flawless 48-year-old didn’t share a release date, but we already know some of the producers involved. Poo Bear revealed that they recorded songs together, while the 18-time chart-topper has been in seen in the studio with Jermaine Dupri, Bobby Ross Avila, Prince Charlez and No I.D..

After the rocky rollout of Elusive Chanteuse, it looks like Mariah isn’t playing this time around. Hopefully, we get the lead single before the end of the year.
