Rock on! Kesha highlights her massive crossover appeal with her latest musical endeavor. Today (August 29), the 31-year-old hopped on a high-octane remix of The Struts’ single, “Body Talks.” The English rockers dropped the original version earlier this year, and it has rapidly amassed more than 2.5 million streams on Spotify. Linking up with the group in Los Angeles, she helped breathe new life into the anthem. “I’m so excited to release ‘Body Talks’ with The Struts,” the “Praying” siren gushed in a press release. “They are one of my favorite current bands keeping the spirit of classic rock and roll alive with their wild energy and sexy style.” She also added a succinct description of the song’s overarching theme. “It’s a song made for my favorite activity: boogieing.”

Laying her distinctive vocals over the sassy instrumental, Kesha brings a new dimension to the release. She also paired up with the band in St. Louis for an appropriately glam video. Considering her track record, it is hardly surprising that the Lagan Sebert-directed project is a glittery extravaganza. Switching between a red catsuit and a bedazzled white pantsuit, she and The Struts frontman Luke Spiller deliver particularly wild performances. The end result is fun, brazen and could easily become a major hit. It also reminds me of some of the rock-centric songs that made the tracklist for last year’s Rainbow, which is always a plus. Although she may have landed a bevy of pure pop hits over the years, the hitmaker is a pro when it comes to hopping across genres. And this is just more evidence.
