Blue Thoughts: LAUV Drops Fan-Inspired Track “Superhero”
LAUV is one of the breakout stars of 2018 thanks to the incredible (and still ongoing) success of “I Like Me Better.” The melodic love song has been climbing the charts for more than half a year and is expected to soar above its current peak of 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the coming weeks. In the process, the blockbuster hit has racked up more than one billion cumulative streams. Never one to rest on his laurels, the prolific 24-year-old has released a steady stream of new material including the fan-inspired “Superhero.”
“At my shows, I ask people to submit notes in a glowing blue box about whatever’s on their mind or whatever they’re feeling in that moment,” LAUV explains. “I call it my blue thoughts, and this song was inspired by an anonymous note left in that box. I had no plans of writing this song, but 10 minutes after finding the note, it existed. I then set out to find who the mystery co-writer was to learn his story and get their blessing to tell it, and after weeks of searching, I did.” Listen to result of the singer/songwriter’s detective work below.
