Flashback: Mariah Carey's 'Oh Santa'
Mimi's epic 'Oh Santa' deserved to be as big as 'All I Want For Christmas Is You.'

Do you worship at the Church Of 5 Octaves? If so, tomorrow (September 13) is going to be a holy day. Mariah Carey, Lamb Whisper and 18-time Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper, is returning with a new single called “GTFO.” The not-so elusive chanteuse shared the cover art on social media this morning and it finds her looking fresh as a newborn baby. The title is widely assumed to be an abbreviation for “Get The Fuck Out,” which hints at a sassy bop like the legendary and deeply misunderstood “I Don’t.” It arrives tomorrow at 8am EST.

What can we expect from Mimi’s new music? “I’ve been working on my new album for a while. This is a labor of love and I’m really excited,” the flawless 48-year-old recently told People magazine. “This is me at this moment in my life being able to express myself as a writer and a singer. I’m just really in a good place.” Mariah also describes her new sound as “current” without following “anyone else’s trends.” Sounds good to me. The pop icon emphasized that she is making music that the Lambily wants to hear.

“My fans just want to hear me express myself and speak from the heart and sing from the heart,” Mariah maintained (correctly). “Some of the record is lighthearted and fun, and some [songs] I really went deep in terms of the lyrical content. There’s a nice cross-section of things.” Let’s just hope radio plays along. Imagine hearing an actual vocalist on the airwaves! See Mimi’s cover art below.
