Lana Del Rey Confirms “Venice Bitch” As Next Single, Shares Snippet
It’s official. Lana Del Rey’s next single is called “Venice Bitch” and it debuts tomorrow (September 18) as Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 World Record. The “High By The Beach” singer shared a snippet on Instagram and it’s another folky, introspective moment. “Fear fun, fear love,” she begins the song. “Fresh out of fucks forever, trying to be stronger for you.” From there, we venture into classic LDR imagery. “Ice cream, ice queen. I dream in jeans and leather.” As for the title? Well, that becomes clearer in the chorus.
“Oh god, miss you on my lips,” Lana croons over gently strummed guitar. “It’s me, your little Venice Bitch.” It sounds like the 33-year-old is definitely going in a softer, more organic direction this time around. Of course, “Venice Bitch” comes less than a week after the arrival of “Mariner’s Apartment Complex” — a hazy daydream of a tune that cracked the top 10 on iTunes and was met with resounding approval from critics and fans alike. Listen to a snippet of Lana’s next hit below.
