The Chainsmokers Team Up With Kelsea Ballerini For “This Feeling”
The Chainsmokers get their groove back on “This Feeling,” a collaboration with country superstar Kelsea Ballerini. The latest addition to the duo’s building album (Alex and Drew are adding songs to it as they go), Sick Boy…Save Yourself, is something of throwback to the Bouquet and Collage eras. In other words, it’s instantly catchy, female vocal-driven EDM with a killer drop. Their recent single, “Side Effects,” struck a similar note, but this is a little more on trend with the country twist and could return them to the upper reaches of the Billboard Hot 100.
“She’s incredibly genuine and talented, we were drawn to her for those reasons and many more,” The Chainsmokers say of their new collaborator. It seems that the feeling was mutual. “I’m such a fan of these guys as people, artists, and songwriters,” Kelsea raved. “I’ve covered a few of their songs on different tours and as far as collaborators, they’ve always been at the top of my list! I’m really excited for people to hear our worlds blend.” Given the success of “The Middle,” which introduced Maren Morris to a whole new audience, this could be a big song for both of them.
