They say you should be wary of meeting your idols. You could either be incredibly honored and inspired, or you could be immensely disappointed. Unfortunately for these fans, they've had the latter experience with the famous musicians that they've met in their lives. Some celebrities seem to forget what it's like to be a normal person, which might be why they've been flat-out rude to these fans.

Rocker Alice Cooper apparently has no time to meet you – even if you've just waited hours outside the backstage door to meet him. One person recalls that when they were 14, they went to an Alice Cooper concert and waited outside the venue for five hours to get a chance to see him.

When he finally came, Cooper allegedly had his security guards pin the teenaged fan and his friend to the wall, just so he could walk past without being bothered. He didn't even say hello to the fans. Sadly for these guys, their image of their favorite rocker was forever tarnished.

The band members all had drinks in their hands and walked into a hotel without acknowledging anyone. While Armstrong didn't pay any mind to the Redditor, one of the Green Day members felt it necessary to yell, "Move, [expletive!]" to them even though they clearly weren't in the way.

Gene Simmons has disappointed more than a few KISS fans in his day. One person on Reddit recalled the time his brother played the guitar at a concert Gene Simmons attended. It might be a little intimidating to have to play an instrument in front of a famous rocker, but it's another thing to have your dreams crushed by one.

After the concert, this person's brother had the chance to actually meet Gene Simmons. Even though Simmons complemented the brother on his guitar-playing skills, he still thought it appropriate to say, "too bad you'll never make it."

But at the end of it, Kid Rock decided to be a "rockstar," took the musician's guitar, and threw it over the building. Elton John is perhaps one of the most legendary musicians out there. Many fans probably hope that Sir Elton John is a nice guy in real life, but one guy told Reddit that this isn't necessarily the case.

After John got off his private plane, the Redditor said hi to him as he got into his limo. Elton John could have simply said hi back or even waved, but instead he gave the fan a condescending laugh and went on his way. The fan met Kanye and told him how cool it was to meet him, but said he wouldn't bother with asking for a picture or anything. One Redditor said that they saw Demi Lovato in line at a smoothie shop. The Redditor's nine-year-old cousin was a huge fan and asked Lovato for an autograph. Unfortunately, the fan got a mouthful from Lovato, who ultimately said she was too busy for a simple autograph. Demi could have been nice to this fan, especially since it was a kid!

In his defense, he were at the airport and may have been rushing off somewhere. After all, if he stopped for everyone that asked for a picture or an autograph, he wouldn't really get anywhere. Still, this fan's recollection of seeing him doesn't paint such a nice picture of the singer. Perhaps he could have offered a smile at least.

Canadian DJ deadmau5 is not hard to miss. After all, he wears a giant mouse head so often that many people probably aren't aware of how he actually looks. Without the mask, he's just a guy named Joel Thomas Zimmerman. If more people knew what he looked like, then this encounter might have gone down easier.

But apparently famous DJs also get a false sense of entitlement sometimes and when someone wouldn't let Zimmerman into a restricted area without a proper escort, he actually felt inclined to use that "do you know who I am?" line. Of course, deadmau5's version was more explicit.
