Cardi B is not going anywhere anytime soon. The hitmaker has landed hit after hit since launching her career with “Bodak Yellow” in 2017. She became the only female rapper to land two number ones on the Billboard Hot 100 when her Bad Bunny and J Balvin-assisted “I Like It” ascended the chart this summer. And today (September 24) she extends her reign even further as she tops the chart for the third time. Billboard revealed that she and Maroon 5 have finally reached a new peak with “Girls Like You.” The song sat at number 2 on the chart for six weeks, and it finally managed to topple Drake’s “In My Feelings.” “NOT TO LONG AGO I WAS DANCING FOR DOLLARS !!!” she wrote in a post celebrating her latest achievement on Instagram. She also shared a video explaining the history of the song.

This also marks Maroon 5’s fourth time topping the charts. They last pulled off the feat with 2012’s “One More Night,” which managed to hold onto the spot for nine weeks. After dropping their star-studded video earlier this year, it took the rockers 17 weeks to climb the chart with their latest bop. At the rate things are going, I wouldn’t be surprised if Cardi makes an appearance during their headlining performance for the 2019 Super Bowl Halftime Show. In the meantime, the “Ring” rapper is poised to climb the charts yet again when her highly anticipated “Taki Taki” drops this Friday (September 28). A collaboration with DJ Snake, Ozuna and Selena Gomez, it is expected to be an absolute banger. Revisit “Girls Like You” below while we wait to hear her next smash!
