Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow” Will Give You All The Feels
Soundtracks made a serious comeback in 2017 with The Greatest Showman becoming one of the year’s best-selling albums. That trend is set to continue in 2018 with the imminent arrival of A Star Is Born. The first full song (Lady Gaga has kindly shared a couple of teasers) arrives today and it’s a triumph. Heavily featured in the movie preview, “Shallow” is a soaring, country-tinged ballad by Mother Monster and co-star Bradley Cooper. Their voices combine effortlessly and I’m already invested in their characters after watching the video (above).
Co-written with Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt, “Shallow” is one of 14 new songs by Gaga on the A Star Is Born Soundtrack (due October 5). While most of the album is comprised of ballads and earthy, stripped-back anthems, there are rumored to be a couple of up-tempo bops. Regardless, this song is going to be massive and the soundtrack is destined to be a mega-seller. “Shallow” should also feature in the race for that Best Original Song Oscar along with Kesha’s “Here Comes The Change” and Troye Sivan’s “Revelation.”
