Phantoms & Vanessa Hudgens’ “Lay With Me” Video Honors ‘High School Musical’
Vanessa Hudgens made a glorious return to the pop scene last week with a feature on Phantoms’ instantly catchy “Lay With Me.” The collaborators roll out the video today (October 4) and it’s a tribute to High School Musical. “Being that we all grew up acting in Disney shows, we wanted to pay homage to our past,” the LA duo explains. “When we sat down with Vanessa to brainstorm ideas for the video, we knew that this idea was something both our fans and Disney fans alike would be excited to see.”
“It represents us all growing up and moving on, but still remembering where we came from,” they continue. “Directed by The Dads, they did an amazing job of bringing our vision to life and making it really funny as well. We are super proud of how it turned out.” And they should be. The nostalgic visual effortlessly catches the euphoria of the song and doubles as a walk down memory lane as Vanessa takes to the stage during a high school talent show. She slowly comes out of her shell and, before the end of the song, has the whole auditorium on their feet. Watch up top.
