Barbra Announces New LP, 'Walls'
Barbra Streisand has dropped the powerful lead single from 36th LP, 'Walls.'

Barbra Streisand has always been open about her political views, but they have rarely impacted her art. That’s about to change with 36th LP, Walls, which the living legend has already described as a response to Donald Trump’s presidency. That’s certainly true of the powerful lead single, “Don’t Lie To Me.” On it, the 76-year-old poses a series of questions over an orchestral arrangement. “How do you sleep when the world keeps turning? All that we built has come undone,” she ponders. “How do you sleep when the world is burning?”

The self-directed video, which arrived this morning, is even more blatant. A collage of headlines, searing images and music, this packs one hell of a punch. It’s also a reminder that Barbra is still fighting the good fight at a time when her contemporaries have long since retired or booked a residency in Vegas. Walls is scheduled to arrive on November 2. The enduring hitmaker is looking to extend her record of the most number one albums by a female artist. She currently has 11 extending back over six decades. Watch “Don’t Lie To Me” below.
