Camila Cabello's 'Camila': Album Review
Does Camila Cabello's self-titled debut album live up to the hype?

After getting off to a slow start with “Crying In The Club,” Camila Cabello’s solo campaign caught fire with “Havana.” The unstoppable anthem climbed all the way to number one on the Billboard Hot 100, broke the Spotify streaming record for a solo female artist and was certified six-times platinum. She then proved it was no fluke by landing another smash hit with “Never Be The Same.” What’s a breakout star to do after that kind of success? Drop a couple of cute collaborations and take your time with the next single.

After toying with “Real Friends,” it looks like Camila has settled on “Consequences (Orchestra).” A reworked version of one of the stand-out ballads on her debut LP, this is perfect fare for fall and winter. The song is also still pop enough for radio, but the addition of strings lends it a sheen of class and sophistication. When you factor in the imminent arrival of a big-budget video starring Dylan Sprouse and her upcoming performance at the American Music Awards, there’s no reason why this can’t become another huge hit.
